KSU Urban Farms and Gardens Survey
INTERESTED IN URBAN FARMS AND VEGETABLE GARDENS?
Kentucky State University College of Agriculture, Communities, and the Environment is conducting a survey on urban farms and vegetable gardens. We are doing this research study to find out some general information about urban farms and vegetable gardens in central Kentucky and information urban growing practices related to crop selection, cover cropping, nutrient management, pest management, and irrigation. We are interested in a whole range of urban farms and vegetable gardens from back yard gardens to community or institutional gardens (like school gardens) to larger commercial operations. If you own, operate, or manage a farm or food producing garden in an urban area you are eligible to take this survey.
Our criteria for an urban area are:
• Within city limits (not “in the county”)
• You are located in an area of relatively dense development.
• In a suburb or subdivision
• You have streetlights and sidewalks
If you have any questions about the survey or your eligibility to participate, we would be happy to answer them.
