Paristown Community Garden at risk– sign petitions & get candy

By abfuller /

Paristown neighbors are collecting signatures on 2 petitions related to the redevelopment of the Barret Gov’t Center property . Louisville Metro is now planning to sell the land adjacent to the Paristown Community Garden at 850 Vine Street to a developer to $1. Marian Group is paying $1 for the adjacent 3 acre parking lot on Vine St. Neighbors are rising up and trying to shed light on a process that has not been transparent and if you come to “trick or treat” you can sign 2 petitions and get some candy until Nov 8 at 800 Goullon Ct (near Lampton & Swan St,) . We need 200 signatures and we’d love any help from neighbors & community garden advocates. See the development agreement at https://louisvilleky.gov/sites/default/files/advanced_planning/ugc_development_agreement_copy.pdf Public hearing will be Nov 15 and folks can speak against the plan. One of the petitions is to hold the meeting in the evening so that more neighbors will be able to come. Thank you!
